How to fix a Galaxy A70 that’s not connecting to WiFi network

A mid-range smartphone like the Samsung Galaxy A70 shouldn’t have issues connecting to any network but it seems like some owners are actually having problems with it. Some owners reported that their units are not connecting to the WiFi network they used to connect, while others said that theirs keep dropping the connection and would not reconnect after that.

WiFi issues can sometimes be very annoying but more often than not, they’re actually pretty easy to fix. In fact, you may be able to fix your Galaxy A70 that’s not connecting to a WiFi network by doing one or a couple of procedures. That’s what I’m gonna show you in this post. So, if you’re an owner of this device and are currently having the same problem, continue reading because this article may be able to help you one way or the other.

Troubleshooting a Galaxy A70 that’s not connecting to a WiFi network

In this post, we will try to consider every possibility and then rule them out one after another until we can determine the reason why your Galaxy A70 is not connecting to a network anymore. With that being said, here are the things you need to do to fix this problem…

First solution: Power-cycle your network device

Perhaps the reason why your Galaxy A70 cannot connect to the WiFi network is because your router no longer broadcast the signal properly and needs to be refreshed. Electronic devices that have been up for too long have to be rebooted every now and then so that they can continue doing what they’re supposed to do. Before anything else, it’s best to rule this possibility out.

To reboot your network device, simply disconnect it from the power source or wall outlet and leave it without power for a minute or two. After that, plug it back in to the power source and then wait until it’s ready before you let your phone reconnect to the network. If your Galaxy A70 is still not connecting to the network after that, then move on to the next solution.

Second solution: Force restart your phone

After refreshing the connection from your router, it’s time to refresh the memory of your phone itself, as well as reload all its applications and services. You have to do the forced restart to do that. The forced restart is a simulated battery removal that has been proven effective against issues that occurred without apparent reason or cause. This issue might be just due to a minor firmware glitch, which can be fixed by this procedure. Here’s how it’s done:

  1. Press and hold the Volume Down button and don’t release it yet.
  2. While holding down the volume button, press and hold the Power key as well.
  3. Keep both keys held down together for 15 seconds or until the Galaxy A70 logo shows on the screen.

Once your phone has finished rebooting, try to see if it’s still not connecting to the WiFi network.

Third solution: Reset the network settings of your phone

It is also possible that the reason why your Galaxy A70 is not connecting to the WiFi network is because the current connection is corrupt, or there are some network settings that have been changed without you knowing about it. To rule out this possibility, you need to reset the network settings of your device. Here’s how it’s done:

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to pull the notification panel down.
  2. Tap the Settings icon on the upper-right corner.
  3. Scroll to and tap General management.
  4. Touch Reset.
  5. Tap Reset network settings.
  6. Tap Reset settings.
  7. If prompted, enter your PIN, Password or Pattern.
  8. Finally, tap Reset.

Once the reset is done, try to see if your Galaxy A70 is still not connecting to the network. If the problem remained, then move on to the next solution.

Fourth solution: Factory reset your phone

Once the network reset is done and your Galaxy A70 is still not connecting to the network, the next thing that you have to do is to reset your phone. A reset will be able to fix any network-related issues that occurred without apparent reason or cause. And assuming that the firmware on your device has not been modified in any way, you should be able to fix this problem with this solution.

But before the reset, create a backup of your important files and data that are stored in your phone’s internal storage because they will all be deleted and you may not be able to retrieve them. After the backup, remove your google account from  your phone so that you won’t be locked out. When ready, follow these steps to reset your phone.

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Power keys.
  3. When the Galaxy A70 logo shows, release the keys.
  4. Your Galaxy A70 will continue to boot up into the Recovery Mode. Once you see a black screen with blue and yellow texts, proceed to the next step.
  5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset’.
  6. Press Power button to select.
  7. Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes’ is highlighted.
  8. Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
  9. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  10. Press the Power key to restart the device.

When the reset is done, set up your phone as a new device. I hope that this simple troubleshooting guide has been able to help you one way or the other.
