After installing the latest software update the battery of my Samsung z file 4 has been draining significantly quicker. 5% drop in 5 minutes...
Is anyone experiencing this ?
Samsung do you have a patch coming up to fix this ?

Have you looked at Settings, Battery to see whether any apps are causing this? Also try turning off 5G. 5G connection can be really poor as it struggles and swaps between 5G and 4G. 5G coverage is much poorer than 4G and has other problems, usually better if direct line of sight to 5G enabled tower. Try turning off automatic updates and related update settings Googling will result in other useful explanations/suggestions.

Direct line of sight is not required for 5G NSA.
Perhaps your thinking of mmWave 5G, which had limited range and does require line of sight?

I believe that 5G is not as good as portrayed. Unfortunately I can't find the YouTube link I had that 5G can be very poor (apart from the obvious one that 5G has less coverage and might be close to being out of range). The video pointed out that whilst connected to 5G transfer can be very slow, slower than 4G and you can turn a corner while walking and encounter a huge drop in connection speeds. That is why I referred to line of sight. The same applies to other bandwidths, just walk aroung your house and run a speed test in different places. The ping value is a good measure for this. The following video, included only for information, gives a number of reasons why 5G may be poor.https://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/how-to-send-texts-to-email/#:~:text=Forwarding%20incoming%20tex....
Both Google and YouTube provide many links which suggest that turning off 5G saves considerable battery use.
Other things to consider, use Settings, Battery to identify which apps are currently usinng significant battery consumption.

The link you posted is not cellular related, I think this was for another post you replied to.

I have done a test to show non line of sight vs line of sight 5G NSA (Sub6).

For context, there are 6 other buildings between myself and the cell tower site and I can't see the tower unless I walk out to the street.

As you can see, there's minimal difference in D/L between the two.
There is a little better U/L speed with line of site.Screenshot_20230307_181657_Speedtest_1000003218_1678173417.pngScreenshot_20230307_181947_Speedtest_1000003220_1678173587.png

You should see my other service, which for now is with Vodafone.
Can barely make 350Mbps on 5G. 🤦🏻

I do use 5g but before the update the battery life was not draining...

I've now seen this on other communities for the Flip4, Fold4 and S22 series.

Some were able to "fix" it by booting into recovery, and clearing the cache.
But it didn't fix it for everyone.
Whatever the cause, hopefully Samsung will fix it with the next update.

In the meantime, you could send a report to Samsung via the Members app.

To send an error report:
Samsung Members app > Support > Error reports > select issue category > Describe issue and frequency > Tick ‘Send system log data’ > ‘Send’ in top right.
