Have Your SayI stumbled upon this post trying to figure out why Smart View no longer connects to Chromecast/GoogleTV is still working. If Google added aspect ratio options for screen miroring I wouldn't need Smart View.
I can report that Smart View still works with Roku, pre-Android/Google Sony TVs, and LG TVs.
I will request aspect ratio control from Google as it's obvious Samsung is not going to readress this.
p.s. I'm not going to abandon my Samsung phones over this. Utilizing Roku is a very inexpensive solution.
One can also utilize a Quick Settings tile to activate Google Cast mirroring: https://android.gadgethacks.com/how-to/add-google-cast-button-your-quick-settings-tiles-any-phone-no...
