Samsung, it's time for something fresh. One UI is getting stale, and it's frustrating how new features are only implemented when Google or Apple do them first.
The taskbar only came out after 12L. Material You theming only came out after Google brought it to the Pixel. Lock screen customization was moved from goodlock to the settings app after Apple made it a highlight feature.
You're a leader in mobile hardware but a complete follower in terms of software. It's extremely frustrating how reluctant you are to try new things, and will only make changes when your customers get angry.
The design of your weather app is a great place to build from. Take it's unique art style/animations and bring them around the entire One UI interface. Your designers have fantastic ideas when they aren't being kneecapped.
