Galaxy ATry do *#0*#. On the diagnostic menu, look for the "Speaker" option, run a test to see if it is your speakers which are faulty.
It would be more concerned if the audio jack is damaged (causing permanent detection that earphones are plugged in), causing the sound to only work on earphones.
If the phone is under warranty, you can also bring in to Samsung service centre to have them check.
