Samsung started upgrading the Galaxy A50s to One UI 3.1 a full month ahead of schedule. Based on Android 11, the latest update for the 2019 mid-ranger started rolling out this past Sunday. Identified as release version A507FNXXU5DUB6, it was originally spotted in Vietnam and will gradually expand to more countries, as tends to be the case with Samsung’s OTA packages.

The timing of this release is at least one full month ahead of when Samsung’s roadmap says the Android 11 update for the Galaxy A50s was set to arrive. It’s also likely that this is One UI 3.1 we’re looking at, not the original 3.0 release.

Has the Galaxy A50s skipped One UI 3.0 entirely?

Mind you, this is an assumption based on the fact the Galaxy A50 recently started receiving One UI 3.1 and skipped 3.0 entirely, which we were able to confirm just several hours back. Speaking of which, the Galaxy A50’s jump to Android 11 was also expected to happen in April, but Samsung is clearly speeding things up.

This debut Android 11 build for the Galaxy A50s is packed with the March 2021 security update. That was be expected, considering the said security patch has been rolling out to a wide array of smartphones for about two weeks now. I.e., before March was even around. You can check whether the update is already available in your country by going to Settings » Software update » Download and install. Alternatively, our firmware archive holds mirrors of full system images containing the Android 11-based One UI 3.1 update and the March 2021 security patch for the Galaxy A50s.

That's some good news! But unfortunately this will be the last major update for the A50s ㅠㅠ
