Recently I have purchased a Samsung A73 5G phone from Malaysia and send it to travel with it a different countries. Before traveling I have only make a call for 2mins but now it's showing Region Lock with different country SIM card. I know I have done a mistake to make minimum 5-7mins call. Now I have a Malaysian SIM with me and it's road enabled on that countries. My question is it possible to unlock that phone using Roaming Enabled Malaysian SIM card or I need to back it in Malaysia then unlock it?
To my knowledge, if it's a prepaid account, you could enable roaming via the app itself whereas for postpaid, some do need to call service line to enable the roaming. You could try to install your local provider app first to check. All the best.
For Region Lock, since you made a 2 minute call before you travel, it is locked to that Sim card that you made the 2 minutes call with, if that's not a Malaysian Sim card then you need to get that Sim card to unlock it, the first 2 minutes phone call locks the phone to the region its being used to call, if that's a Malaysian Sim card and the region lock happens when you changed to other countries Sim card, then just put back Malaysian Sim cards, I think so
To unlock it with other Sim cards, you need to visit the service centre's where you bought the phone, don't know overseas service centre's can help, but you can try ask
