Hello Samsung community members

I have inquiry to ask. This would be my first post on this community. I want to ask for an advice or support. I encounter issue with my a73 display. I notice horizontal line on the above part of my screen when I touch and hold the screen. This line will only visible when in the low brightness and light mode.

Is there any members encounter the same issue like me? If yes what's your solution. I'm quite sad you know 😞 I just bought this phone last week. I already do factory reset etc and the best solution Samsung recommends me to do a pick up since the service center is quite far from my home. I'm afraid if the repairing process will take a long time as I need to use my phone and this is my first time encounter this issue on my NEW phone.

Hope members on this community could help or share opinion on this issue.
Thank you.

I don't know if you can see but yes the line will appear when you touch the screen. Maybe have to see in real life to see better. In Pic you might not see it. It is white horizontal line IMG_20230305_183153_1000000023_1678013120.jpg

It would be real helpful if you would just highlight (by drawing a circle around the area affected so we would know where to actually look for it.
With this 2nd image, I still can't see any horizontal lines but I do see like maybe 4 vertical ones which might be reflections or smtg else so pls circle the affected area whenever the issue you want ppl to see isn't prominent.

Sorry for the late reply.

I already got my lcd replaced, but the line is still there. So they said this is a pixel problem. They said even if they change a new lcd again, the line will still be there. I think this issue happens to quite a few a73 users. Just whether they notice or not. But for me, I'm quite annoyed because i notice the line but can't get it fixed 🙃 😂

No probs on the late reply my friend, but I think you better get a 2nd opinion from someone else cos what they told you about the lcd is quite ridiculous (an lcd with pixel problems = to the lcd having a defect). And if they're somehow right about the lcd they must still be able to have a solution for you bcos you paid the full price for a product that's supposed to be in good working order (which it clearly isn't now).

This is my first mid range phone that I bought. When this happened, it kinda bring me trauma you know. Might be better buy a cheaper phone but with good quality. Hmm I'm quite sad. If they really have other solution, they might want me to send my device for other round of evaluation hence it would be a time consuming process 😢

I feel you, but I'd rather leave my phone for a period of time to resolve the matter rather than to have the problem which would disappoint me everytime i look at the screen (which is like everytime I use my phone).

I myself feel the pinch when I used almost half my salary for the note 20 ultra (doesn't matter which phone you have, bottomline is hard earned money used to pay for it) and if it were to come with any unresolveable issue not of my doing, it'll be very darn disappointing and irritating. So when anything like this happens to me, I'd sure as hell make sure they offer me a good excuse (that I can't counter) or a reasonable solution for the issue. I'm not being pernickety or anything but I just feel that we consumer's have been taken advantaged of by these big corporations or their staff who are lacking of empathy simply bcos it isn't their hard earned money that's been used to purchase a below par device.

And looking at what the other users of this phone has commented, it seems that this lcd defect is affecting other phones of the same model as well (which means to say Samsung has yet again sold defective goods to its customers). if you have the budget, tell them that this problem is not of your making and you want to either upgrade or downgrade to another model that doesn't come with a defect of any sort. Be firm about it as it is only fair to you as a paying customer and also bcos those that are attending to you will give you a thousand and one excuses why they can't take the phone back (its actually not they can't, its more like they don't want to).

Yes, i agreed with you. So i already contacted their live chat just now, and i ask for a solution and they said as the expect said this issue cannot be resolved they cannot do anything about it as the final decision would depend on the technician's side.

They said they would learn from the feedback to make sure this will never happened again.

Do you have any recommendations on where i could voice out this issue aside from the customer service?

I'm so sorry for their irresponsible reply to you my friend but I'm not very sure where you can seek further help. You can try emailing Samsung Malaysia HQ or looking yp for a consumer rights group or agency to make a formal complain agsinst Samsung.

Their reply to you is DISGUSTING and I hope everyone who is using a Samsung product sees what kinda replies Samsung gives its customers WHENEVER any issues arises with their products (this isn't the first nor would it be the last similar kinda reply that can be found here on samsung members or elsewhere online)
