Samsung has released a new software update to the four-year-old Galaxy J7 (2017). The company’s turnaround in terms of software updates has been pretty impressive, and not many other Android OEMs can say that they keep their four-year-old smartphones updated with the latest security patch.

The Galaxy J7 (2017) has started receiving a new software update in Mexico. It comes with firmware version J730GMUBSCCUF3 and includes the June 2021 security patch. The company had detailed its latest software update a few days ago, revealing that it contains four dozen fixes from Google and 19 fixes from Samsung. The update is still based on Android 9, and it doesn’t bring any new feature to the Galaxy J7 (2017).

If you are a Galaxy J7 (2017) user in Mexico, you can either wait for the OTA update to hit your device or check for the update manually by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. Alternatively, you can also download the new firmware file for the Galaxy J7 (2017) from our firmware database and flash it manually. Other markets could get the software update over the next few days.
