Houston, we have a problem.

After updating the firmware, my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra's battery is draining faster than usual; way faster. Hopefully, this is temporary.

As you can see, it dropped to 92% from 100% immediately after the update too. I updated the firmware at 100%.

From my experience, usually it's normal for Samsung battery to drop fast from 100 to 90. Once it hit 80% & below, you will notice the battery percentage will decrease slowly than 100% to 90%. My S23 Ultra still can hold up 10 hours of SOT even after the latest software update

Personally, such a huge battery drainage of 8% within 2 minutes of a firmware update had never happened to any of my Samsung devices before since 2011.

And today, it didn't last that long too; merely 6 hours of SOT after the update, which is way too fast than before. Nevertheless, will see how it performs within the next 48 hours.

Basically it's normal for battery to drain faster after huge firmware update. Reason being, lots of background services are running to reconfigure everything, and most of the time the phone might be a bit warm. Normally things will get back to normal after one day+-.
My S24 U also having similar behaviour and is back to normal after a day.
All the best.

How long did you have this problem, was it ever resolved, how? I'm facing same issue after update on 10/20/24, first on S21+ then I bought a new phone and now on S24+. Takes forever to charge and last only a few hours. Its been 3 days since the update and no change. The phones are optimaized. I had not changed a thing after the update.  I would get a full day of battery before the update now, even on the new phone it hardly stays charged. I'm debating on returning the new. $1000 bucks and you would think it could stay charged a day. And Im not power using the phone,  just normal usage. Any advice is welcomed. Thank you.

Same exact deal here on the US model of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra after OneUI 6.1 update and even after 7 update -- lost 10 hours of battery life. I even replaced the battery last week with an OEM part at $140  cost to no avail. It is definitely the OS upgrade that is causing the drain. Samsung reps have no clue!

Samsung pulled an Apple on us, I guess... 😞
