Galaxy S
Many probably already know about this battery protection setting on Samsung phones but for those who don't here is the deal. Go to Settings, look for Battery, then Battery protection with three options : Basic, Adaptive, Maximum. I suggest you click either Adaptive or Maximum. Personally I will click Maximum - your battery will stop charging when it reaches 80%. In my experience such setting, together with not letting battery to fall below 20% before charging, will keep battery longer.

That's a solid tip! Samsung's *Battery Protection* feature is a smart way to extend your phone’s battery health over time—especially helpful for those who plan to keep their device for several years.
Here’s a quick breakdown of the three options under *Settings > Battery > Battery protection*:
- *Basic*: Charges to 100% as usual.
- *Adaptive*: Learns your charging habits and limits to 80% during prolonged charging (like overnight).
- *Maximum*: Always stops charging at 80% for maximum long-term battery protection.
Pairing this with a habit of not letting the battery drop below 20% is a great move. Lithium-ion batteries handle partial charges better than full discharges, so this method reduces wear.
💡 If you're someone who doesn't mind topping up during the day, *Maximum* is the best bet. Want balance between convenience and longevity? Go for *Adaptive*.
