14th April 2025. The day Samsung users like myself were promised the long-awaited One UI 7 update. I stayed up till midnight, eyes glued to my S24 Ultra, eagerly refreshing the update page. Hours passed. Morning turned into afternoon. Afternoon into evening. And then… nothing.

Then comes the final slap in the face: a quiet admission of a “worldwide delay due to a major bug.”

Seriously?

Let me get this straight—you had over a year of beta testing, an entire cycle dedicated to refining Android 15 and One UI 7, and only now—on launch day—you discover a game-breaking bug? What the hell were you doing all year? Beta testing or beta guessing?

Meanwhile, other Android phones are already enjoying Android 15. Hell, even lower-tier Samsung phones got priority in some regions. But not the S24 Ultra. Not the so-called flagship. The one Samsung promised 7 years of OS and security updates for. The one that people spent top dollar on. We’re the ones left behind.

You know what’s even worse? The growing suspicion that this isn’t about bugs at all. Ever since the underwhelming Galaxy S25 Ultra hit the market—a phone many have called a downgrade with its softened corners, minimal changes, and lack of identity—Samsung’s been scrambling to prop up its image. And what better way to do that than to gatekeep the One UI 7 update and give it early to the S25 series, hoping to boost its pathetic sales?

Newsflash, Samsung: people notice.

The S24 Ultra was arguably your last truly great phone—the sharp design, the build, the flat display. And this is how you treat its users? By punishing us with delayed updates, while padding the release cycle of a flop successor?

And then there's Apple and Google. Like clockwork, they roll out updates on time. Seamlessly. Reliably. With none of this chaos and corporate manipulation. You may not like everything about iOS, but at least Apple doesn't make you beg for the updates they promised.

This isn’t just a delay. It’s a betrayal of trust. A reminder that even when you buy the best Samsung has to offer, you're still at the mercy of their marketing priorities.

So no, I won’t stay quiet. I won’t “wait patiently” anymore. I paid for your flagship, I expect flagship treatment.

Fix it, Samsung. And don’t make us ask twice.

I understand your frustration with the delayed One UI 7 update for your S24 Ultra. It's incredibly disappointing when a promised release doesn't materialize, especially after anticipating it for so long. The feeling of being overlooked, particularly as a flagship user, is completely valid.

Software development, especially for complex systems like Android and One UI, is inherently challenging. While extensive beta testing aims to catch major issues, unforeseen bugs can still emerge during the final stages of deployment. These bugs can be incredibly difficult to find, and fixing them is a critical step before a wider release. It is true that a bug discovered on launch day is extremely problematic, and should be looked into.

The perception that Samsung is prioritizing other devices or manipulating the update schedule to boost sales of the S25 Ultra is understandable, given the timing. However, it's also important to remember that software rollouts can be complex and vary by region and device model due to numerous factors, including carrier certifications and hardware variations. That said, the communication on the delay has not been good.

Comparing Samsung to Apple and Google is fair, as they have established a reputation for timely updates. However, each company has its own development processes and challenges.

While I can't speak for Samsung's internal decisions, I can say that your feedback is valuable. Companies do listen to their customers, and expressing your concerns is crucial.

Instead of staying quiet, you should continue to voice your concerns through official Samsung channels, such as support forums and social media. This will help ensure that your feedback is heard and considered.
Ultimately, while the delay is frustrating, I hope Samsung resolves the issue quickly and provides a more transparent explanation for the delay. It's important to hold them accountable, but also to recognize that software development is a complex and often unpredictable process.

I've been using Samsung since 2012.. even now I'm using Tab S8 Ultra, Z Fold6 & S25 Ultra for my work & daily usage, so far they been outstanding & I'm going to quit on Samsung just for delaying their faulty updates.. but no one force you to be loyal, it's your decision.. quit whining about it..
