Just upgraded my S24U to One UI 7, and trying to get the home screen  to come even marginally close to what Nova Launcher gives me.  Not sure I'm going to get there, but I'll give it a fair chance.

Anyway, in Home Up / Home Screen, there's a toggle called "Apply folder background color" that's described this way:

"The background or an folder will have the same color as the folder icon."

My question: What folder icon? Is there a way to assign an icon other than the default grid to a folder? If so, how? I can't find anything in Good Lock anywhere. If there is no way to change the folder icon, what does this option actually do? What icon is it taking a color from?

Also, I have DIY Home screen toggled on, but how do I actually make the changes it's supposed to allow?  All I see when I tap on that option is an information screen that lets me swipe between 3 pages that describe what you can do, but don't offer any way to actually do anything.

This seems pretty half baked and not ready for prime-time.

Wait, you already got the update? Are you based in another country? Because according to Samsung's announcement, Malaysia and Singapore is supposed to get the update on the 14th only

Yeah, it does feel a bit half-baked. The “folder icon” here just refers to the default folder preview (the grid of apps). You can’t assign custom icons to folders directly in One UI. That toggle just matches the folder background color to the dominant color of the folder preview. As for DIY Home screen, it only shows what’s possible but actual editing happens via Good Lock modules like Theme Park or One Hand Operation+. A bit unintuitive, I agree.
