Hi Folks, I just got my S21 Ultra yesterday and have been actively using it. Everything is fine, working as it should be, but there is one thing I notice and felt uncomfortable about it is the temperature and heat issues. My almost 2-day old S21 Ultra's temperature can reach up to 36-37 degrees celsius with minimal usage( Facebook, Youtube, Reddit).  (*I measure using apps like CPU-Z, CPU Monitor Temp, and also a Laser Infrared Thermometer)

I did contact the Samsung Support Team and they said it might just because my S21 still learning usage patterns which could lead to current issues. I was told to continually monitor my phone temperature and if it still happens after 2 weeks' time then they will further escalate my situation.

I would really appreciate if you folks can share your experience in term of your current S21 temperature when it is in idle, minimal usage and also extensive usage. Best if you can mention both the current temperature and the time when you first got your phone!

Much Thanks and Stay Safe!

Hi Tan, great to see your replys. No, I havent resolve my issues yet, since it's still learning the pattern usage. Will definately update here once the usage pattern learning completed.

sad to hear that. I contacted Samsung Support and they told me that 36-37°c is consider as optimal temperature for the S21 Ultra. Facts shows that Exynos does have heat issues.

May I ask which region of your phone usually gets hot? Mine usually at the side of camera and super hot above charging port (under fingerprint scanner).

36-37°C? Is this the battery temperature, or the cpu temperature?

My s21 gets to 39-40°C(Cpu temp) and 36-37°C when browsing the web, maybe a few apps opened in the background, only wifi and bluetooth enabled, and the 5g disabled(just got the phone 2 days ago). Is this normal, and if so, will this affect my phone in the long run?(planning to keep it for 3+ years)

Hi Andrei, as for my case is cpu temp. But as to answer your question, it is pretty normal for new phone to overheat (as long as it doesnt shows sign or pop out that indicate to shut down device due to high temp) since it is learning your battery usage pattern. As long as it is not hardware issues, the temperature issue can be fix by future software updates. Hopefully with the newly announced Android 12, Samsung can address the issue when they launch Android 12 to their devices.
