My phone was purchased shortly after launch in April 2022. This is the base S22 model.

Today morning, I woke to a pink vertical line. Already troubleshoot with Samsung CS, it is a hardware issue. Reboot and safe mode, still same.

I have never dropped my phone before. The screen is free of scratches and the body has no dents.

I also use.my phone on power saving mode and use 15W charging speed max.

I updated the October and November patches back to back on 17th December 2024.

I went to Samsung express repair center in The Gardens Mall. The CS said Samsung cannot replace the faulty screen as I am out of the warranty period.

I've read hundreds of similar stories online on various forums. Why is Samsung not doing anything, since this is clearly a manufacturing defect? While other manufacturers using Samsung displays are also impacted, it is nowhere near as prevalent as the issue that S20/21/22 users are facing.

To make matters worse, this defect impacts the trade-in value at Samsung's own trade in program. The Samsung store rmployee told me RM900 if my screen didn't have this defect, but since got defect, it is worth just RM225.

The least Samsung can do, if they refuse to change the displays, is to either not penalise the trade in value for their own phones for their own trade in program, or to offer a generous overtrade to get the latest S series phone.

Otherwise, Samsung is going to lose a whole lot of goodwill over this issue, with the impending launch of the S25 series.

I've been a Samsung user for well over a decade. Prior to the S22, I had the S10e. If Samsung doesn't step up and do something about the blatant manufacturing defect, they will lose many customers facing a similar predicament.

well sorry to say about your screen, but we can't do anything about it, most people will keep buying galaxy smartphone, also to avoid green line you can trade in your S phone each year, use Samsung Care+ to fix all scratch or dent or anything before trade in so you get highest value of trade in product

2025 will be a decent year for new smartphone releases, Vivo and OPPO are said to be launching pretty impressive Ultra-flagships. I'm planning on venturing outside of Samsung phones for a change to see what else is out there, you're more than welcome to join 😁.
Btw, I am also a victim of the display line issue
