S23+ Dex mode on external Monitor

Hey ! I have a portable external monitor that uses USB-C and supports USB3.2 Gen 2. 

My issue is when I connect my phone to the monitor, it is unstable and keeps disconnecting. However the Dex Mode launches on the external monitor. I realised the issue maybe in the USB settings, so I changed to from 'charge this device' to 'charge connected device' 

However now the DeX mode doesn't seem to launch anymore. Any idea why?

What I found is it has to be charging during the usage to hv external power. Depend on the hub you use

You need to use external power to the monitor
