Hello Experts,
Anyone has this colour wash out problem after software update? My S23 Ultra software version after update:

> One UI version: 6.1
> Android version: 14
> Current version: S918BXXS6CXI4/ S918BOXM6CXI4 / S918BXXS6CXI4
> Security patch: 1 October 2024

And I've check all relevant settings including Eye comfort off, natural and vivid colour switches etc but colours still wash out.

Very obvious is my previously vivid green WhatsAapp and WeChat icon now barely look green! Even Red looks more like Brown now!🤦‍♂️

Appreciate any Expert ideas & solutions?

Many thanks 🙏

If you're experiencing washed-out colors on your Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra after a software update, there are a few possible causes and solutions to consider. Some updates can inadvertently alter display settings or cause temporary software bugs that impact color saturation and brightness. Here are some troubleshooting steps to help address this issue:

1. Check Display Settings

  • Screen Mode: Go to Settings > Display > Screen Mode. Try switching between different screen modes (such as Vivid and Natural) to see if it improves color saturation.
  • Adaptive Brightness: Toggle Adaptive Brightness off and on. Sometimes, this setting can interfere with color accuracy, especially under different lighting conditions.
  • Color Temperature: Some screen modes allow you to adjust color temperature (warmer or cooler). Experiment with this setting to improve color vibrancy.

2. Disable Eye Comfort Shield

  • Go to Settings > Display > Eye Comfort Shield and turn it off if it’s enabled. This setting reduces blue light and can make the screen appear slightly yellowish or washed out.

3. Reset Display Settings

  • In Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset Settings, you can reset your display settings to their default values. This won’t affect your data but will reset customized settings, which might help with color calibration issues.

Thanks for the advice. I've tried all except no.3 to no avail.
In no.3, in my setting, I see only:

▪︎Reset all settings
▪︎Reset mobile network settings
▪︎Reset Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings
▪︎Reset accessibility settings
▪︎Factory Data Reset

Amongst all these, I can't find any Reset Display in specific! So if I Reset All settings does it mean I need to reconfigure all my settings again?

Many thanks 🙏

Hooray! I found the cause of my colour washout problem!!

Solution: go into Settings > Accessibility > Vision Enhancements > Colour correction NEED TURN-OFF

This Colour correction TURN-ON will cause colours washout effect.

Don't understand why it's TURN-ON!? 😅

Good day Everyone 🙏
