A big promise or claim that you will provide 7 years software update has a corresponding expectation from the buyers/users of your ultra phones that the hardware also will last 7 years (of course, assuming no other damage caused by the user)
My S22 ultra only lasted 3 years and has served me soooo well for those 3 years. Me and other people are even happy with the pics and videos i took from it and other helpful features such as samsung dex, spen etc..
And just suddenly this Feb 2025 it boot looped til the battery drains and never resurrected again upto now just because of your software update 6.1!!!!
Samsung, what are you doing to our phones? Especially S22 Ultra, there are so many same issue with this model reported in the web and recently confirmed by the repair shop representative where I sent my phone. 5 people in a month sending their S22 ultra to this repair shop alone!!!!
The OS promise does not worth a single cent if the phone get green lines within that period too even though cost to replace the screen is not as high as the cost of a new phone but still, an additional investment added on top of the initial investment of the phone.
Other brands are starting to offer 5 year OS upgrade promise. Since those phone are cheaper, they are becoming a more worthy investment.
That is a great point! competition is really good that highlights brand that are working well and brands that are slacking. Avoid monopoly and pushes good quality products
