Despite doing the upgrade as prescribed, Samsung S21 ultra 5G is still unable to connect to the Android Auto that comes together in yhe infotainment system in KIA Grand Carnival 2022. However, my Asus Zen 5Z 2018 was able to connect without a problem. The Asus is running on Android 10 while this Samsung S21 ultra 5G is equipped with Android 12; therefore it should even be better able to connect. Please help me to understand why I am facing this problem

1) restart your phone

2)reconnect android auto with your car. Like unpair and pair it back

3)Check wether the android auto is updated or not in the settings.

Next, check for software update and if have a update than update it.

I did all of those things, still won't see my apps, i.e. google maps and music apps etc. I can make phone calls and see who's calling, but not any apps. Says can't find any.

Hey dude, does the solution work?
I bought S22 Ultra last week and surprisingly found its Android Auto doesn't work, just exactly same issue as yours. Meanwhile the Carplay worked perfectly on an iPhone 7🤣

I got same problem with my s22 ultra as well. Try to change another cable. I used Ugreen and Huawei cable but fail to connect. Only Vivo cable is able to connect with Android Auto

No as of today I've tried the recommendation, sadly, problem still persists, I went to Samsung Center and was told to use the original cable, I am unable to understand what cables have to do with connectivity 🤔 but I will put it to test. It's funny that An Asus zen 5z 2018 was able to connect to Android Auto instantly. I think Samsung needs to study this issue and collect relevant data to resolve this problem.

based on my experience using android auto either wired or wirelessly, yes different cables will bring different results due to different in capacity of data that it can be transmitted, highly recommended to use any oem brands or any 3rd party reputable brand e.g anker, aukey, tronsmart etc. Fyi, android auto is not officially supported in Malaysia, and good thing is nowadays statting from Android 11 (i guess), it came pre-install baked-in into system. Usage of android auto may involves transmitting of data between phone and car head unit, I think, for Samsung, they may set a certain level of security standard whereby most modern flagship phone simply can have a plug n play connection between devices without a proper 'handshake', due to difference of system environment e.g phone os v car headt unit os compared to any other brands e.g Asus etc which simply can easily connect just like that, which to most mainstream consumer found it is ease of use or peace of mind. For apple carplay, yes, there are no other phone connecting to carplay except iphones compared to android world you have many other brands, therefore security reason under their control environment.

Back to your issue, for starters, highly recommend for you to use suitable cable, then from your phone, to create a proper handshake connection between devices, please enable usb debugging features from developer option (one-off to enable, you may disable this option after successful connection). Before that, you might need to enable location services, bluetooth, wifi and enable any other related option i.e nearby device scan, wifi scan, bluetooth scan. later, follow any screen prompt from your phone to successfully complete the connection.

mine got none of any problem connecting my z flip 3 wirelessly to android auto from my kenwood player.

If there's any problem persist, probably your android auto phone apps or samsung phone security level or car head unit player firmware need to be updated.

in addition, please do the connection while your car in static, once android auto/phone detect movement of your car, any ongoing process that involves screen input i.e touching phone screen, key in keyboard may be paused
