Hello,

I bought my S22 ultra and got it around April 2022.

I am using TM Unifi wifi connection with the device, and found that for certain apps the connection are very poor. (For example it works completely fine with Facebook app but can't connect on Grab app). I can confirm that the Grab app is not down as it immediately connected after I switch to mobile data.

I have also tested with the same app and same unifi connection, but on other android devices, the Grab app connects just fine.

So anyone having the same experience? is it something got to do with my Unifi, or on the phone itself?

Thanks!

So far, I don't have any issue at all with my home wifi, which is under Unifi on my S22U. Pretty sure there's no setting or block on Unifi side for certain app.
Maybe you could try to unistall Grab app and reinstall it back?

Hello, thanks for your input, I had re-installed grab it still doesn't connects. I had also tried to use devices (both Samsung and non-Samsung devices) from my family members they all didn't face this issue.

Grab is just one of the apps, the Unifi just didnt work on some more apps too (mostly games or live streaming apps).

Quick question.
Are you using Unifi's supplied wifi router or your own? Just curious because I'm using my own high-end router and basically there are some settings we could set or block for certain apps or website from running.

Hi, I am using the Unifi supplied Wifi router.

The same wifi works perfectly fine on all other devices which connected to it, just behaving weird on my S22 ultra.

First of all is there any problem if you connect your Unifi using your laptop, parents mobile phone or other gadget?

If no, can you also test your laptop and see is there any other website which you cannot go through? And also test out is there any lagging/ slow
if you watch YouTube video on your laptop? (using your Unifi)

From the above, you will know whether your Unifi got problem or not (you can do a speed test if you want). If yes, you can contact TM for a fix and if no, your Unifi should be no problem.

Next follow the step below:

1) Restart your Unifi and test is it work or not
2) Enable and disable air plane mode from your mobile
3) Restart your mobile device
4) Clear cache and storage from your Grab Application
5) Delete Grab Application and re-install again (this should be able to solve it)

If no luck for all the steps above, guess you might need to contact Samsung Support through call or chat.

Hello, thanks for your input.

I had tested the UniFi on other mobile phones or laptops, it works just completely fine with any apps.

Also I have tried other apps in my S22 ultra, they works just fine, just the UniFi just wont work on certain apps (mostly games or live streaming apps). Some other apps like Grab are one of the example too.

Had tried all the steps as suggested, but no luck at all :(

Seems weird. But i do know there is such issue on Android and Samsung devices but very rare it happen in Malaysia.

If you are a high tech person, i guess you can try out:

1) On your mobile phone, reset/ forgot your Wi-Fi and re-connect again (reset android network setting)

2) On your router, redo the settings and restart (this might be hard)

One more thing, is there any problem if you are using a different Wi-Fi/ location? Like your neighbor or friends location?

If still cannot, i suggest that you video the problem and book an appointment with Samsung Support team for a advice. Not sure if Samsung will blame it on TM or not.

I think sometimes is not about the WiFi connection problem, might be the server problem, which the response slow. Or maybe you received the latest android update, sometimes if you received the new android update, or the latest android software update, some apps might not work very well, but in future, it will work well honestly, or maybe u should check your Play Store or Galaxy Store to manually update them.

I am having exactly the same problems although Twitter is the App where the slow loading is most acute and I have have tried everything to fix it. Other problem apps include Sky News and Commodities.

If I force a reboot of the phone it seems to work fine for a few minutes then deteriorates back into the sluggish loading.

Using the same Apps on other wifi and the phone works perfectly
