Smart Select is an S Pen feature that allows you to conveniently screenshot a selected part of your phone screen. With just a few strokes, you can clip, edit and share. Read on for steps on how to use Smart Select.
What is Smart Select for?
Smart select lets you select, clip and collect whatever grabs your interest so you can easily share it with your friends.
Whatever the shape and size of the content, Smart Select it with your S Pen to capture it all in one quick move. Capture long pages that require scrolling as one image and write notes over the saved content. You can also easily create GIFs from videos.
How to take a screenshot with Smart Select?
Step 1. Open up your Air Command menu by either:
- Taking out your S Pen (and menu should automatically slide out).
- Tapping on the Air Command menu icon if you are currently holding your S Pen.
- Hovering the S Pen over your screen and pressing the Pen Button
Step 2. Tap on the Smart Select icon.
Step 3. Choose the type of selection tool you would like to use (e.g. Rectangle, Lasso, Oval, etc.).
Step 4. After choosing a selection tool, outline the area you wish to screenshot.
Step 5. You can choose to save the highlighted area by tapping on the Save icon, or continue to edit it by tapping on the Draw icon.
