Samsung has been working with popular smartphone apps (e.g. TikTok, Google Meet, Youtube) to bring optimized UI for those apps to its Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip devices. These optimized apps take full advantage of the larger screens on the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and other devices in the lineup. As of today, rival foldable devices still don't have the right software design. The software experience is one of the areas where Samsung clearly wins.
Let's take a look at the image below, TikTok app running side-by-side on the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Vivo X Fold 2. Galaxy Z Fold 4 displays a sidebar and vertical video on the left side of the screen, and a review section on the right, completely filling the large screen. Whereas, Vivo X Fold 2 displays TikTok app's UI in the middle of the screen, leaving thick black bars on the sides.
