Galaxy Z
I updated the Android firmware on september 1st and subsequently Samsung later released their own in house firmware at a later date. I downloaded the UI security update on September 10. From then on my Samsung device started to go downhill. The large main foldable screen would periodically black out and have no display and there is no sound. I have always been careful with my phone protected it with various screen protectors and expensive hard case phone armour. Now it has started to degrade my smaller screen. The display becomes intermittent and there is no sound even when I restart my phone. I visited Samsung care centre at Plaza Singapura and was shocked to hear others complaining about the same thing. The customer service agent even completed the sentence for the korean lady beside me. No display no sound rite yah. Im literally shocked and disgusted. And before even diagnostics im quoted a $64++ diagnostic fee . And the service agent even quoted me a disgusting estimate of $700++ for a repair service without even telling me what it is about . It cant be a display issue as it can intermittently from time to time be in normal condition yet most times completely obsolete and no display. It reached to a point that even the smaller screen projects the header " software Ui not responding" so whose fault is this. Basically Samsung seems to be updating its software to crash older models of its own devices in hoping users upgrade or trade in. Simply ridiculous and unfair treatment to loyal customers like myself. My wife keeps asking I keep being loyal to a brand and even buying into their foldable when such devices are unstable and costly. I feel totally at a loss and will prob boycott such a brand that betrays its own client following. When I asked the customer service agent why Samsung is always late in pushing out their UI only much later after android update, he couldn't even answer me and seemed to suggest there is more to than meets the eye. In any case I walked out of the customer service centre utterly diasppointed and angered. If Samsung doesn't assist me wirh a repair due to no fault of my own but because of their own software crash, will boycott this brand for good. 25+ years to build on brand allegiance apparently means nothing to this company. Should I switch to Apple??
