Laggy Keyboard

hi, my phone keyboard has been lagging for a week now. i need help and tips on how to fix this problem because it has been hindering me from communicating with people in chats. at first i thought it's because my storage is starting to get full so i deleted unnecessary apps and pics & vids in my gallery but the keyboard is still lagging. i tried one tip from google which is to delete the data/cache but i cant seem to find where to delete them. i looked up on settings, apps and keyboard settings but there was nothing that indicates me to delete data/cache of my keyboard

Nothing much you can do if it is a very old device.

Maybe you can try out:

• Clear up your cache and data for your keyboard
• Change your keyboard touch and hold delay time
• Reset keyboard settings
• Restart your keyboard
• Restart your device

To be honest, I have such issue on my older device too but after switching to Google Keyboard, the problem never occurs anymore.

** FYI, I never use Samsung Keyboard anymore because I found out that Google Keyboard provide more things in their settings.

What WinnieC shared is good, you can try the above and see if it works. 

Your last option will be do to a full factory reset (but do back up your data before doing so).

As the phone is old, the performance of your hardware inside your device will also be affected due to wear and tear.
