It's great to see the new features that come with the One UI 5.1 update. The Bixby Text Calls feature sounds like a convenient and practical way to handle calls without having to physically answer them. The camera improvements, with direct access to the Expert RAW app, and the upgraded Gallery application with cloud storage options are also exciting. The connectivity improvements, with the ability to use a Galaxy Book’s Keyboard or mouse with a Galaxy Tablet or smartphone and the ability to sync Samsung Internet Tabs across multiple devices, seem like great additions. The new Samsung DeX features and other improvements, like the more informative weather and battery widget, show that Samsung is continuously working to improve the user experience on their devices.
• Bixby Text Calls: The most anticipated feature of One UI 5.1 is the ‘Bixby Text Calls.’ It is similar to the Call Screening Function of Google Assistant, which allows the user to tap on an on-screen button when a call is kept on hold and alerts the software system. Bixby Text Calls has an inbuilt virtual assistant which replies to calls from the user’s side. In addition, it can also start talking in text messages after necessary replies to the call.
• Camera Department: As the Galaxy S23 series is marching soon, some camera improvements will be delivered to the other Galaxy devices with the help of One UI 5.1. The changelog includes direct access to the Expert RAW app from the Gallery.
• Gallery application: One UI 5.1 is expected to tweak the default gallery application on Samsung devices. Now, you can share the complete album with family members or friends. For instance, users get 5 GB of free storage but can be upgraded to cloud storage if required. You can now search for people using dedicated tools like faces, tags, and locations. You will now have the option to save a screenshot every time, anywhere you want.
• Connectivity: The company is creating an effective ecosystem to compete with its rival company. With the new improvements in One UI 5.1, you can use Galaxy Book’s Keyboard or mouse with a Galaxy Tablet or smartphone. Many other people will have access to Samsung Notes and be able to change it how they want. You can also sync Samsung Internet Tabs across various Galaxy devices. The quick access toolbar can control the speakers’ output of the played media.
In addition to the above primary features, One UI 5.1 has brought some new Samsung DeX features, reducing the time for first-time setup of Galaxy phones, more informative weather and battery widget, and many more.
I like the DEX feature and the new widget for battery where you can see all your devices battery level from 1 device as well as the mode and routines wallpaper where it will change it automatically depending on our activities.
