Frankly speaking, it has limited use under certain situations only.

The intention is only for emergency use ie lost in a jungle where there's no signal etc.
Honestly, I think this is a very good feature, of course with understandable limitation.

Agreed with you, bro.
It has this use case but how many of us go to jungle a lot of times.

If it's just for SOS alerts, the use cases are just limited. Nevertheless, do share what other exciting capabilities & enhancement to the Android user experience that satellite can offer u think will happen. 👌

Satellite text messaging is slower and costly than traditional text messaging. That's why current use is limited to emergency purposes.

Currently capabilities:

- Connectivity in remote or disaster-affected areas - Fast communication (support two-way communication via SMS) can save lives, especially in challenging or emergency situations.
- Devices with crash or fall detection/health sensing automatically send messages to emergency services even in areas without cellular or Wi-Fi coverage.

Future enhancement:

- During a disaster, emergency alerts are broadcast via satellite to end-user phones in the affected area.
- Remote Work Support - Work in remote locations such as mining, oil and gas, and forestry, where traditional cellular coverage may not be available, satellite messaging will help.
