Others-Sue BOE, failed to pass OLED quality certification... Preparation for re-challenge Digital Daily Reporter Kim Do-hyeon1 Samsung Electronics is aiming to diversify the panel supplier of the'Galaxy 5'series. Small and medium-sized organic light emitting diode (OLED) leader Samsung Display has been in charge, but is contacting Chinese companies to reduce costs. However, quality issues remain. More time seems to be needed. According to the industry on the 10th, the Chinese BOE did not pass Samsung Electronics' quality test. It was reported that Samsung Electronics sent a request for quotation of some models of the Galaxy 5 series to be released next year to the BOE. Normally after the quality test and mass production test, the panel can be mounted on the customer's first product. The BOE was unable to cross the first-stage threshold. An official from the display industry said, "BOE is struggling to expand the OLED business. It failed to deliver the first shipment of Apple'iPhone 12' panels scheduled to be released in the second half of the year. "It is a scenario that can only be improved if quality is improved". As it is still in the first half, there is time to reinforce the BOE. The problem areas will be corrected and redistributed. According to DSCC, a market research company, the product that BOE intends to supply to Samsung Electronics is a 6.67-inch flexible OLED panel.
