Let Galaxy users tap into the full potential of Snapdragon—safely, intelligently, and on their terms.
Samsung devices running Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and newer are capable of far more than current software allows, and this untapped power presents a major opportunity. I would like to propose a new One UI feature called Special Performance Mode that safely boosts CPU and GPU performance through controlled overclocking. Users could adjust performance using a power slider (e.g., 0–100%), with higher levels requiring a reboot and a warning about heat, battery impact, and potential risks. This feature would deliver major benefits to gamers, emulator users, and anyone who wants ultra-fast performance for demanding apps.
To keep warranties intact and meet safety regulations, Samsung could: (1) limit availability to regions with fewer restrictions such as South Korea, India, Southeast Asia, and Latin America; (2) place the feature under Advanced Settings or Labs with an opt-in agreement; and (3) apply automatic thermal caps and safe power limits within Qualcomm’s certified ranges. This approach would let Samsung stand out as the only mainstream brand offering safe, customizable high-performance tuning—without violating hardware policies or regional standards.
