I can connect just fine but the voice over for navigation or reading texts basically doesn't work at all

Same issues here. Audio will occasionally go back and forth between phone and stereo. also when making calls, voices get garbled on both ends after speaking for a few minutes.

yes I'm having the same issues. then I saw samsung post in the known issues section of the beta update notes. google assistant on AA is useless cause it switches to phone audio. we'll just have to wait. this is what beta testing is all about I suppose.
