Where did recent app navigation through left/right swiping go?

I had become such a huge fan of using the iPhone-esque app switch gesture that came with Android 10. I enjoy the swipe up for home or swipe up/hold for the recent app tray, but they feel lacking without this extra gesture. Can we have it back?

Or, what is the purpose for removing it? I did notice that after the 2nd patch, the recent app switch through swiping the bottom of the screen became clunkier.

Mine is also gone and more options is greyed out. Back to learning old stuff again

gotta do a hook motion now or turn on gesture hints if you wanna swipe left or right. just give both a try and and leave a feedback to them of your opinion. agreed they should have the option tho

it's only gone if you use a third-party launcher

New gestures will not be available if you are using a 3rd party launcher - they're available in One UI, but not Nova Launcher.
