I am not a fan of a few things but I'm sure I'll get used to them, but there are major bugs with this release that makes my phone practically unusable. Here's a few I've been struggling with:

  • Media volume control goes missing and sound for any music or videos will only play through the earpiece. The only way to fix this and get the sound back to "normal" is a reboot. I'm the meantime, I'm missing all my sound notifications because they're all playing thru the earpiece above the screen
  • Indexing the memory cards is extremely slow
  • GPS coordinates are no longer stored in pictures you take with the shortcut (double click the power button) or launched from the lock screen. An error now pops up saying something like "Coordinates cannot be saved if the phone is locked"
  • Battery life is terrible. I'm using Medium power setting, and what used to drain my S10 only 10% prior to the update is now closer to 15-20%
  • All of my notifications set for individuals was reset to the default notification
  • The camera features are really bad. The way that the video recording works now compared to prior is just bad
  • All of my fingerprints needed to be registered again, which completely removed bio unlocking on almost all of my apps, and needed to be registered again before I could use fingerprints to launch apps like Fandango
  • Almost all of the settings made with NiceLock and it's subcomponent apps (like MultiStar, QuickStar, etc) don't work and all say something like "we're working on updating to Android 10"
  • Sound routing seems to be broken or inconsistently malfunctioning. Sometimes an app can play through Bluetooth, and other times it just to won't work. You see the seek bar moving but there is no sound being piped out to Bluetooth or through any audio outputs on the phone itself
  • Any themes need to be reset, so if you've customized your layout or display (like blue light filter, Live Wallpaper, etc) seem to be reset to stock default
  • Contacts was updated, so if you have home screen shortcuts or custom widgets to dial people directly, they all stop working
  • Google Assistant will not activate by voice (no "ok Google" or "hey Google")
  • Still no ability to remap Bixby button to something more useful
  • My unlocked S10, which is activated on Verizon, says Sprint in the phone details
I'll update this if I can remember or encounter any other issues. Has anyone else experienced similar issues?

Thanks,

Jesse

I already reported half of your issues. the one that's hurting me is battery life. I'm on 1080p res and still horrible.

my battery life has been the best its ever been with a factory reset. you should do one biyearly or yearly with these updates. just back up data.

I've experienced some of these issues but remap for Bixby has been around, also my google assistant works fine. I do a factory reset after each update though. alot of your other problems I do agree with

I've been hating the good lock stuff being unuseable. also my YouTube app constantly crashes. I hate that I don't have multi window or change my lock screen. every thing else seems good for me

Samsung has already said that Good Lock will be updated after the final Android 10 is released.

Ive also been having battery problems. I try not to plug my phone in overnight as to not kill out the battery cells and typically the battery loses 10 - 12% over the night (7 - 8 hours idle). Now that's definitely up to 20%.
The only other issue I reported was that my home screen wallpaper looks like it has a blue light filter on it, no matter what I change the wallpaper to.

You're not going to kill your battery cells. 3 years from now you'll probably lose less than an hour of battery life. The phone doesn't continue to charge once it reaches a full charge

I have read thru your list. I would suggest a reset of the cache in boot manager. I have witnessed no sound issues. and I have no battery issues. also it would be a recommended that you reinstall certain apps in beta cause it will cause issues. hope this helps. I believe reset d cache in boot loader will fix allot of your issues. as far as added features. you may have to adapt. if they are popular.

You can remap the Bixby Key since Android 9.
