Some Galaxy smartphones come with an eSIM. The eSIM allows you to activate a mobile network plan without having a nano-SIM. If your Galaxy smartphone has an eSIM, you are able to add and remove your mobile network plan to the smartphone. Learn about your mobile carriers that support eSIM on your Galaxy smartphones.

How to add your mobile plan on your smartphone with eSIM

To add your mobile network plan on an eSIM, you can scan a QR code that your carrier provided, install a pre-assigned plan automatically, or you can enter the information manually. Before adding your plan, make sure your Galaxy smartphone is connected to WiFi or mobile data network.

Install a pre-assigned plan

Some carriers support automatic mobile plan activation to eSIM by pre-assigning your mobile plan to activate. Check with your carrier if automatic activation is available. The carrier might ask you the EID of your smartphone. You can find EID on a package box of your smartphone or Settings > About phone > Status. If your mobile plan was pre-assigned by your carrier, follow the below steps:

  1.  Go to Settings > Connections > SIM card manager
  2.  Tap Add mobile plan
  3.  Your mobile plan is automatically downloaded and activated on eSIM

Scan a QR code

Most of the mobile carriers that support eSIM provide a QR code that is assigned to your current mobile plan. Contact your carrier to receive a QR code. To add using the QR code, follow the below steps:

  1.  Go to Settings > Connections > SIM card manager
  2.  Tap Add mobile plan
  3.  Tap Add using QR code
  4.  Scan a QR code that your carrier provided
  5.  Your mobile plan is downloaded and activated on eSIM

Enter the information manually

Some carriers that support eSIM provide the information of the eSIM server or an activation code to add manually. To enter your plan information manually, follow the below steps:

  1.  Go to Settings > Connections > SIM card manager
  2.  Tap Add mobile plan
  3.  Tap Add using activation code
  4.  Enter the information that your carrier provided
  5.  Your mobile plan is downloaded and activated on eSIM

Remove your mobile plans on eSIM

You can remove activated plans on eSIM with the below steps. After removing your plan, contact your carrier to terminate or suspend your subscription. Removing the plans on your Galaxy smartphone does not affect your subscription with the carrier.

Remove a plan

  1.  Go to Settings > Connections > SIM card manager
  2.  Select a plan on eSIM that you want to remove
  3.  Make you the plan disabled by tapping a toggle switch
  4.  Tap Remove

Remove all plan

  1.  Go to Settings > Connections > SIM card manager
  2.  Tap Remove all mobile plans

I'm using Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, and I don't seem to be able to find Sim Card Manager anywhere in my settings.
I did try on my Note 8 (although it doesn't support esim) but there's the Sim Cad manager app under Setting.
