Right handed users will appreciate being able to disable Android 10 Back gesture navigation on the left screen edge in favor of being able to easily slide out app menus. Please consider adding such controls which can help to mitigate this inherent design conflict in Android 10 gesture based system navigation.

All you need to do is hold onto the menu then swipe.

I find it very inconsistent...it constantly conflicts with other available actions in certain apps.

or the apps can accommodate for the new gestures. similar to how Twitter and Instagram do it, instead of swiping from the edge of the screen you can swipe from the center to enable the menu

That will have to happen down the road if Google won't address this glaring navigation issue.

One thing I've thought about is that it could be implemented that a specific area of the screen let's say the top 10% of the sides do not activate the back gesture and instead can function like a "clear area" for those slide out menus
