Empty Space Under Keyboard

There seems to be a lot of empty space under the keyboard.  It looks ugly.  There has got to be a better place for the keyboard selection and arrow to minimize the keyboard (especially when you can just use the back key/swipe for that).

It is a lot harder to type when it is farther down. I believe you can customize it

go to navigation bar settings and turn show button to hide keyboard off.
