When opening recent apps from the home screen, I think a neat visual effect could be the icons scaling in.
For example, when you open an app or swipe to the last page of the home screen or a folder, the icons scales up or down.

iOS does this with a blur effect and its visually appealing, doesnt delay anything just a visual effect when opening the recents view from the home screen.
I made this post previously but I also think you should add this when we swipe up the home button to do the same icon visual effect. It makes the UI feel more comfortable.
