Previous OS versions allowed disabling icon frames on apps on the home screen. However, with the later OS', this is no longer possible and we see an ugly white background behind apps. It would be nice to include this feature again so we don't see the white border around most the apps.
The lack of icon customization is the only thing pushing me towards a custom launcher. The new developer option icon shapes make this inconsistency happen even more, and you can't fix it unless using something other than the stock launcher.
