I have a new Samsung Tab s9+ and I want to plug in my external 1TB SSD to be able to use video editing apps like capcut, powerdirector  etc to edit my videos from the footage on the SSD,

When I plug my 1TB SSD (USB-C to USB-c cable) into the tablet, the files on my external SSD are showing up on the Samsung Files App fine, but If I go to Storage settings its only showing me my internal storage. If I plug the SSD into my smartphone (Oppo Find X5) and go to Storage within Settings it displays both internal storage and OTG storage, and I need the tablet to be able to fully recognize the OTG storage so that when I use CapCut or Power Director and want to add clips that the folders from my SSD show in the local device media, but they don't.

Is this an issue with Samsung Gallery app not recognizing the folders on my external SSD and not showing them as "albums" within the gallery, as that is what my Oppo Phone Gallery can do.

The only Video Editing app which is hardwired to look at my external SSD and add it as a linked folder is Lumafusion, but i prefer Capcut and PowerDirector due to their vast range of prebuilt titles, transitions and effects, but when I want to add new clips to the timeline, I am restricted to strict local storage only of which the internal storage has no videos or photos. On my phone Capcut and Powerdirector is able to show my external media as part of the local gallery, but I bought the tablet as my phone screen is too small for me to work with. I don't want to transfer the clips from my SSD to the internal storage.

Any suggestions or advice welcome, otherwise I may need to consider a different tablet.
