The samsung keyboard would crash everytime I try to change it's size, but I found this odd solution to this issue that helped me resize the keyboard without it freezing on me.
Go in the navigation gesture settings and toggle ON "show button to hide keyboard". Once that feature is ON, go back to any messages thread, launch the keyboard and change the keyboard's size.
That suddenly allowed me to change the size without it crashing.
Turn OFF "show button to hide keyboard" and it should just go back to normal. I am able to change the keyboard's size flawlessly w/ no crashes. Hope this helps for those who has this problem.
