I've been using Galaxy devices for many years and have participated in previous betas.  As a general rule of thumb, before I do updates,(OS & Security), I put my phone on airplane mode. Doing so cuts back on data processes outside of what's done for the install & update.  Not certain if it matters but makes sense if you really look at it. Ever had messages come in at the same time from multiple sources, see how that hiccups at times. 🤔

Good luck

But, don't you need internet to install the update? Then, after you download it, the update "uploads" onto your phone I guess, but the only way that happens is if your phone is off, so I don't see the use of turning on airplane mode, seeing as your phone is restarting to install the update.

You need internet to download the update, not install it. Once the files/update/package is on your phone, then it's opened/unpacked/installed. There's no need for internet during that process, so it's ok for the radios to be turned off. After the update is complete, the device then will attempt to use the radios to contact whatever server (upload information), to tell it it's on whatever version, completed the update, as a sort of verification process. That's how I've observed the process.

That's what I mean, but during the actual installation of it into your phone, your phone turns off and restarts, so it wouldn't make a difference whether WiFi is on or off because your phone is off.

there's a period where it's finalizing the update and moving stuff around after the reboot. Thanks for sharing your views.

for me clearing the cache partition first before I do anything then go ahead and download and install the update and don't touch anything nothing as bad as you want to look just let it do its thing cuz there's a lot going on in the background even after it looks like it's done let it sit there for about 20 to 30 minutes then start playing around that's worked very well for me
