Looks like the perfect option for seeing a movie so there isn't any missed notifications afterwards.

Settings/Sounds and Vibrations. When you click on Mute there, the Temporary Mute option replaces the Vibrate when Ringing option. pretty cool

how do you hide the battery on the notifications bar?

I think there's a Samsung app called QuickStar that lets you do that. It is a part of the Good Lock suite but I can't find it anymore...
