We're sorry for the experience. You may follow the below steps in order to narrow down the root cause of the issue :
1. On the watch, swipe up on the home screen to see your app list
2. Open Google Maps app
3. Press the magnifying glass (search) icon
4. Scroll all the way down to the "Settings" and press it
5. Press "Auto Launch"
6. Toggle off "Driving"
