Dear team,
The write speed performance on the internal storage (user accessible, like documents, DCIM, etc.) is limited in comparison to internal storage for applications (not accessible to users). This can be observed in the application Motioncam PRO, with RAW video shooting capabilities while recording video in full sensor size and with a higher frame rate (e.g., 50 fps). After a couple of seconds, the RAM (memory) is full, and the video starts to drop frames. However, if the option to store videos to internal application memory is selected, the free RAM indicator doesn't fill up, and there are no dropped frames in the recorded video.
According to the Motioncam developer, this is an issue that needs to be fixed on the manufacturer's side; there is nothing that the app developer can do.
Attached is a picture where the described scenarios are captured. After just 8 seconds, the memory is filled, and frame drops are visible. However, with internal storage, the memory isn't filled, and there are no frame drops even after 30 seconds of recording.
Could you please fix the issue and make the user storage equally as fast as internal application storage?
Regards,
Roman

갤럭시 SDear Customer,
Thank you for choosing our Galaxy devices.
We've investigated the issue, and found that the problem is related to the high CPU usage of the APP and the inefficient way of writing files, rather than the storage performance itself. The APP writes files in a less efficient manner, causing higher CPU usage and limiting the utilization of the high-performance storage. Therefore, we believe that optimizing the app will resolve the problem.
In fact, it appears that the APP developers have taken some steps to address this issue. To alleviate the problem, you can use the feature 'Split RAW video recording across two storage locations' in the settings menu. This feature utilizes two threads to write files, thus improving performance within the APP itself. This shows that the cause of the problem is not the storage performance itself.
(We found the feature in MotionCam Pro v2.0.2-pro, MotionCam v1.2.9.)
Please try using the latest version of the APP with the 'split' feature enabled.
If the problem persists, kindly provide us with the error logs by following the instructions below.
