그것도 삼성전자 전액 지원으로.. ✨️ 오늘은 갤럭시 언팩 행사를 위해 미국 새너제이까지 오면서 겪은 일, 미국 현지에서 겪은 일 등을 풀어보려 해요.
Hi, I am Minseok. I'm in San Jose, USA, and I flew all the way over to the US for Galaxy Unpacked 2024, which is happening on the 17th of January local time.

[In Incheon]
오전 10시, 저는 인천국제공항 제1여객터미널에 도착했어요. 공항에 도착해서 미리 예약해 두었던 현지 유심을 수령했어요. 사실 요즘은 거의 다 esim을 사용하는 추세인데 제 갤럭시 노트20 울트라는 esim을 지원하지 않아서 아쉽게도 물리 심으로 구매했어요.
At 10am, I arrived at Incheon International Airport Terminal 1 and picked up my pre-booked local SIM card, which I've been using almost exclusively these days, but my Galaxy Note20 Ultra doesn't support ESIM, so unfortunately I had to buy a physical SIM.
이후, 체크인 카운터에서 기다리다가 @마일로스 님과 만나 점심식사를 하러 갔어요. 저희는 인천국제공항 제1여객터미널 4층에 있는 '소문'이라는 식당에서 식사를 했어요. 돈까스 김치 나베를 먹었답니다. 맛있었어요.
Afterwards, while waiting at the check-in counter, I met up with @마일로스 for lunch. We ate at a restaurant called 'Somun' on the 4th floor of Terminal 1 at Incheon International Airport. I had the Tonkatsu Kimchi Nabe. It was delicious.
점심식사를 마치고 다시 출국장이 있는 3층으로 내려오는 그때, @크리에이터_담이 님을 만났어요. 담이님과 이런저런 얘기를 나누고 나서 저희 3인은 먼저 체크인을 하러 D 카운터로 갔어요.
저희 삼성 멤버스가 이용한 항공사는 유나이티드 항공이었답니다.
체크인 카운터에서 체크인과 위탁 수하물을 부친 후에, 저희는 삼성 멤버스 담당님, @계란새우초밥 님, @나강냉이 님, @홍여사 님을 만나 보안 검색을 하러 갔어요. @잇슐랭 님은 오전에 일정이 있으셔서 출국장에서 합류했답니다. :)
보안 검색과 출국 심사를 마친 후, 출국장 면세점을 자유롭게 둘러보는 시간을 가졌어요.
After lunch, we headed back down to the 3rd floor, where the departure hall is located. After chatting with @크리에이터_담이, the three of us went to the D counter to check in.
The airline we were flying with was United Airlines.
After checking in and dropping off our checked bags at the check-in counter, we met up with our Samsung Members representatives, @계란새우초밥, @나강냉이, and @홍여사, and headed to security, with @잇슐랭 joining us at the departure hall as he had plans in the morning :)
After security and immigration, we were free to explore the duty-free shops in the departure hall.
@마일로스 님과 저는 30번 게이트 근처에 있는 라이엇 게임즈 체험존에서 간단한 게임 체험을 하고 생수를 얻었어요.
@마일로스 and I stopped by the Riot Games Experience Zone near Gate 30 for a quick game and some water.
비행기 보딩 전, 삼성 멤버스 담당님이 간단한 음료라도 사주시겠다며 저희 멤버스에게 음료를 사주셨어요.
저희 스타즈와 명예의 전당 모두 명찰을 들고 와서 명찰 인증샷을 찍기도 했어요.
Before boarding the plane, a Samsung Members representative offered to buy our members a quick drink.
Both our Stars and Hall of Famers brought their name badges and took a photo of their badges.
이후, 비행기 보딩 시간이 돼서 저희 삼성 멤버스 스타즈 6인, 명예의 전당 1인, 그리고 스타즈 담당님까지 함께 출국길에 올랐어요.
Then it was time to board the plane, and we were off to the airport with six Samsung Members Stars, one Hall of Fame, and a Stars representative.

비행기 어매니티는 목베개, 담요, 이어폰이 끝이에요. 장거리 비행인데 양치도구, 슬리퍼가 없다는 게 조금 아쉽긴 했지만 슬리퍼는 집에서 미리 챙겨 왔고, 양치도구는 @잇슐랭 님이 가져오신 고체치약으로 해결했어요.
고체치약 이거 되게 신기하더라고요. 알약처럼 생겼는데 입에 넣으면 거품이 생기는 그런 치약이에요.
I was a little disappointed that I didn't have a toothbrush and slippers for the long flight, but I brought my slippers from home, and I solved the toothbrush problem with the solid toothpaste brought by @잇슐랭.
It's really interesting, it looks like a pill, but when you put it in your mouth, it foams up.
비행기가 이륙하고 나서 얼마 지나지 않아 첫 번째 간식이 나왔어요. 프레첼 과자랑 오렌지 주스를 받았는데 프레첼 과자가 짭짤하니 맛있었어요.
과자를 먹으면서 제 옆에 앉으셨던 @크리에이터_담이 님, @홍여사 님과 함께 이야기를 하며 시간을 보냈어요.
Not long after the plane took off, I was served my first snack: a pretzel and orange juice, which was delicious because the pretzel was salty.
While eating the snacks, I spent some time talking with @크리에이터_담이 and @홍여사, who were sitting next to me.
비행기 이륙 직후, 안내 방송이 흘러나왔어요.
"승객 여러분, 지금부터 기내에서 무료 와이파이를 사용하실 수 있습니다."
유나이티드 항공의 최대 장점이에요. 바로, 기내에서 와이파이 무료 사용! 유나이티드 항공 앱을 사전에 설치해 놓으면 이렇게 비행시간과 수하물 위치를 확인할 수 있고, 기내에서 무료 와이파이를 이용할 수 있어요. 여기서 무료 와이파이는 채팅 서비스(카카오톡, 디엠)만 가능했어요.
Shortly after the plane took off, an announcement was made.
"Attention passengers, you now have access to free Wi-Fi on board."
If you have the United Airlines app installed beforehand, you can check your flight time, baggage location, and use the free Wi-Fi on the plane, which is the best thing about United Airlines. Here, the free Wi-Fi is only available for chat services (KakaoTalk, DMs).
드디어 본격적인 사육의 시간이 다가왔어요. 첫 번째 기내식은 치킨 또는 소고기 중에 선택을 할 수 있었는데 전 치킨을 선택했답니다.
기내식은 치킨밥과 샐러드, 빵, 버터, 킷캣 초콜릿 과자로 구성되어 있었어요. 치킨밥도, 샐러드도, 초콜릿 과자도 다 맛있었어요. 물론 이건 제 입맛에만 그런 걸 수도..?
It was finally time to get down to business. The first meal was a choice of chicken or beef, and I chose chicken.
The meal consisted of chicken rice, salad, bread, butter, and a Kit Kat chocolate bar. The chicken rice, salad, and chocolate bar were all delicious, but maybe that's just my taste buds...?
두 번째 간식이 나왔어요. 사실 이때 버즈2 프로랑 수면 안대, 목베개까지 풀장착하고 잠을 자고 있었거든요.. ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 옆에서 @크리에이터_담이 님이 깨우시길래 수면 안대를 벗었더니 눈앞에는 간식이 두둥..
두 번째 간식은 브루느와랑 샌드위치였어요. 브루느와는 어린이들 먹는 초콜릿 쿠키 같더라고요. 맛있었어요. 샌드위치는 그냥 그럭저럭 먹을 만한 수준이었어요.
I was actually sleeping with my Buds2 Pro, sleeping pad, and neck pillow in full gear when @크리에이터_담이 woke me up, so I took off my sleeping pad and there was a bunch of snacks in front of me.
The second snack was a sandwich with a Brunswick, and the Brunswick was like a chocolate cookie for kids. It was delicious, but the sandwich was just okay.
간식을 먹고 또 잠을 자고 있었는데 옆에서 또 @크리에이터_담이님이 깨우시더라고요. 그래서 수면 안대를 벗어서 봤더니 이번엔 착륙 전 마지막 기내식이 제 눈앞에 있었어요. 비행 중에 저 깨우시느라 고생하셨습니다.. 😅
마지막 기내식은 햄버거와 빵이 나왔어요. 솔직히 맛없었어요. 햄버거는 맥모닝 같은 느낌이었어요. 그리고 간식을 늦게 먹어서인지 마지막 기내식이 입에 잘 안 들어가더라고요.. ㅎㅎ
I was sleeping again after my snack and @크리에이터_담이 woke me up again, so I took off my sleeping patch to look, and this time the last meal before landing was right in front of me. You had a hard time waking me up during the flight. 😅
The last meal was a burger and bread, and honestly, it wasn't very good. The burger tasted like a McMuffin, and since I ate my snack late, the last meal didn't go down very well....
마지막 기내식을 먹고, 노래를 들으며 시간을 보냈더니 어느새 착륙을 앞두고 있었어요. 비행 중에 버즈2 프로 덕분에 조금이나마 편하게 잘 수 있었던 것 같아요. 갤럭시 버즈 짱!
비행기가 착륙한 후, 저는 제 폰에 꽂혀 있는 국내 유심을 제거하고 티모바일 현지 유심을 삽입했어요. 비행기, 공항 안에서는 신호가 미약해서 데이터 사용이 어려웠는데 공항 밖으로 나오니 데이터를 정상적으로 쓸 수 있었어요.
I ate my last meal, listened to some music, and before I knew it, we were about to land. I think the Buds2 Pro helped me sleep a little better during the flight. Thanks, Galaxy Buds!
After the plane landed, I removed the domestic SIM card from my phone and inserted a T-Mobile local SIM card. The signal was weak on the plane and in the airport, making it difficult to use data, but once we were out of the airport, I was able to use data just fine.

비행기에서 내리고, 그렇게나 까다롭다는 미국 입국 심사를 진행했는데 정말 입국 심사관이 오만가지 다 물어보셨어요.
여기 온 목적부터 해서 재학 중인 학교 이름, 여행 장소, 심지어 현지에서 어떤 음식을 주로 먹을 건지도 물어보셨어요.(아니 심사관님, 제가 여기서 어떤 음식을 먹을지 저도 모르는데 물어보시면 어떡해요. ㅠㅠ)
그래도 전 씩씩하게 대답을 마치고 무사히 미국 입국에 성공했답니다. :)
I got off the plane and went through the ever-so-tricky US immigration process, and I swear, the immigration officer asked me everything.
He asked me the name of my school, where I'm travelling to, and even what kind of food I'm going to eat in the country. (No, sir, I don't even know what kind of food I'm going to eat here, so why are you asking me? 🥲)
But I kept my chin up, answered the questions, and got into the US safely :)
입국 심사를 받고 나서, 캐리어를 찾아야 했어요. 캐리어 안에 스마트 태그2를 넣어놨기 때문에 수월하게 짐을 찾을 수 있었어요. UWB를 지원하는 스마트폰과 위치 추적기의 만남.. ✨️
샌프란시스코 국제공항에서 저희는 우버 택시를 타고 산호세에 있는 호텔로 갔어요.
After passing through immigration, I had to find my suitcase, which was easy because I had placed a Smart Tag2 inside it. A UWB-enabled smartphone meets a location tracker... ✨️
From San Francisco International Airport, we took an Uber taxi to our hotel in San Jose.
저희 멤버스가 숙박하는 호텔은 산호세에 있는 "시그니아 바이 힐튼 산호세"라는 곳이에요. 전 11층 더블베드 룸으로 배정받았어요. 룸 컨디션이 꽤나 준수했어요. 그리고...
Our members are staying at a hotel in San Jose called the Signia by Hilton San Jose. I was assigned a double bed room on the 11th floor, which was in pretty good condition, and...
객실 안에 있는 TV가 삼성 65인치 TV였어요. 삼성 스마트 뷰도 지원해서 스마트폰, 태블릿 등과 미러링 하여 볼 수도 있었어요.
The TV in the room was a Samsung 65-inch TV, which also supported Samsung Smart View, so I could mirror it on my smartphone, tablet, etc.
호텔에서 잠시 재정비를 하고, 저희는 웨스트필드 밸리 페어 쇼핑몰로 이동했어요. 쇼핑몰에는 샤넬, 티파니앤코, 버버리 등 다양한 명품관들은 물론, 초콜릿 가게, 식당 등 음식점도 되게 많았어요.
마치 한국의 스타필드 몰을 보는 듯했어요. 저는 여기서 스타벅스 머그컵, 러쉬 고체 비누, 초콜릿을 샀어요.
어떻게 샀냐고요? 바로 삼성페이로요. 😎 삼성페이 NFC 결제 굉장히 빠르게 되더라고요.

After freshening up at the hotel, we headed to the Westfield Valley Fair mall, which was packed with luxury stores like CHANEL, Tiffany & Co, and Burberry, as well as chocolate shops, restaurants, and other eateries.
It was like Starfield Mall in Korea, where I bought a Starbucks mug, Lush solid soap, and chocolate.
How did I buy it? With Samsung Pay. 😎 Samsung Pay NFC payments are super fast.
If you're ever here, don't forget to buy the chocolate. They're really good, perfect for souvenirs and gifts (not an advert).
쇼핑몰에서 쇼핑을 마친 후, 저희는 스타즈 담당님과 함께 저녁식사를 하러 이동했어요. 이동하는 중에 산타나로우 거리가 너무 예뻐서 사진을 찍어 봤어요.
크.. 진짜 감성적이지 않나요? 야자수와 건물이 공존하는 캘리포니아 감성.. ♡
After shopping at the mall, we headed to dinner with our Stars representative. On the way, we saw Santana Row and took a picture of it because it was so pretty.
Wow. It's really sentimental, isn't it? The palm trees and buildings coexist with the California feel.. ♡

저녁은 'Pizza Antica'라는 식당에서 먹었어요. 인원이 많아서 나눠서 앉았는데 제가 앉은 테이블에는 @나강냉이 님, @계란새우초밥 님, @마일로스 님이 앉으셨답니다. :)
서로 이야기도 재밌게 하면서 알차게 저녁식사를 마무리했어요. 여기 트러플 들어간 피자가 있는데 굉장히 맛있었어요. 완전 강추.
We had dinner at a restaurant called 'Pizza Antica'. There were a lot of people in the group, so we had to split up, and the table I was sitting at was with @나강냉이, @계란새우초밥, and @마일로스. :)
We had a great time chatting to each other and had a great dinner. Here's a pizza with truffles, it was really good. Definitely recommended.
이후, 근처 편의점에 들러서 먹을 것 좀 사고, 호텔로 돌아왔어요. 이렇게 저희 멤버스의 알찼던 하루는 마무리돼요. 마지막 사진으로 뭘 넣을까 고민하다가 호텔 야경을 넣어봤어요. ㅎㅎ

Afterwards, we went to a nearby convenience store to buy some food and returned to the hotel. This was the end of the day for our members, and we couldn't decide what to include in the last picture, so we decided to include the night view of the hotel.
