Hello GabbyLeo,

Thanks for reaching out to us here in order to find out about behind the jelly effect on your beloved Samsung Galaxy phone camera which you believe has something to do with OIS. I feel and understand why you are worried for a device that you've take care so much. If my device is facing similar experience, I will be bothered too.

Jello effect is a type of wobble that happens when your camera sensor vibrates or shakes while recording. This causes the image to bend or ripple, like a jello mold.

While OIS is a mechanical image stabilization technology powered by motors, which stabilizes the photography process by detecting the camera's movement and moving the lens with motors to counteract this.

Before you try out the below recommendations as to your solution, be sure to check if your device's software are updated with the latest version. Please check how to update your mobile device's software in the following order.

Step 1. Go to Settings > Software update.

Step 2. Tap on Download and install

Step 3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Reset and update the Camera app.

Step 1. Open the Camera app.
Navigate to and open the Camera app, and then tap the Settings icon.

Step 2. Reset the settings.
Swipe to and tap Reset settings, and then tap Reset. The Camera app will be reset to its defaults, which may help clear the error.

Step 3. Check for updates.

Tap the Settings icon again, and then swipe to and tap About Camera. Check if any updates are available; tap Update if one is available.

If there are no updates available, your screen will read "The latest version is already installed."

Check your Camera access settings.

The Camera may not work if it hasn't been given the correct permissions. Navigate to and open your phone's Settings, then tap Security and privacy. Tap Privacy, and then tap the switch next to "Camera access" to turn it on.

If that doesn't fix the problem, you may submit an error report through the Samsung Members app as follows:

Step 1. Launch the Samsung Members app, and then tap the Support icon for more options.

Step 2. Scroll and select Error reports.

Step 3. Choose a category of your concern. Select "Camera".

Step 4. Choose the frequency of the issue you are experiencing. Enter issue details or attach a video or screenshot. Then press Send icons to complete the report.
