Last week, I updated to the July 2024 security update of One UI 6.1.1 on my Samsung Galaxy A15 5G and have encountered an issue when playing any media most especially music on apps like Spotify and the Samsung Music app (for locally stored music and other audio files). When system sounds play, the media volume increases abruptly instead of decreasing, which shouldn't happen and is also the opposite of how the media volume is handled when system sounds such as the lock screen sound, keyboard sound, dial pad sound, etc plays.

This at times could be frightening especially when listening to calm music and then let's say the lock screen sound plays when locking and even unlocking the phone.

For some reason after deleting all my routines on the Modes and Routines page on the Settings app (or the Modes and Routines app if the option to show a home screen icon that directs you to that particular Settings page is enabled) and then restart my device, the media volume when media is playing while system sounds play revert back to their normal behavior.

A fix for this is to restart my device as I just confirmed that the Routines on the Modes and Routines app/Settings page has nothing to do with this issue.

But restarting a phone unlike what you normally do on a computer to fix issues such as but not limited to this one is very unintuitive and time consuming so I hope this issue/bug can be addressed in the next "dot" update for OneUI 6.1.x. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Hey, UpprMars_0812We understand how startling it can be when the media volume unexpectedly increases with system sounds. Thank you for sharing your experience, as well as the steps you took to fix it. We’ll be sure to pass your feedback on to our developers so they can work on addressing this issue in an upcoming update. We appreciate your patience!
