Hello Khrylle_01,

Sorry to hear that, about your experience with your Samsung Galaxy phone having issues with fingerprint sensor and we apologize for the inconvenience it caused you.

Before you try out the recommendations below, be sure to check if your device's software and related apps are updated to the latest version. To update your mobile device's software, follow these steps:

Step 1. Go to Settings > Software update.

Step 2. Tap on Download and install.

Step 3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 4. Reset your device.

No one in the world is quite like you, and no two fingerprints are exactly the same. That’s why fingerprint security on Samsung Galaxy phones and tablets is so dependable. However, using the fingerprint scanner may be a little different based on which type of device you have.

Add additional fingerprints.

It may be more natural to use a different fingerprint to unlock your device if you're holding it in another hand, or in another orientation. Thankfully, you can add multiple fingerprints so you can unlock your device however you hold it.

  1. From Settings, tap Security and privacy, and then tap Biometrics. Tap Fingerprints.

  2. Enter your secure screen lock credentials and then tap Add fingerprint.

  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to add the fingerprint, and then tap Done.

If you are having trouble unlocking your device because the fingerprint sensor isn't recognizing your prints, try entering your regular PIN, password, or pattern.

Self-Diagnostic check on the Samsung Members app.

Check the status of your device with the Samsung Members app Diagnostic tool. You can select the individual categories you would like to diagnose or run a complete diagnostic check. After the diagnostic is completed, you can select the corresponding icon to see the results and status of your device. Follow the steps below to start your diagnostic check.

Step 1. Run Samsung Members and select Get help on the lower half of the screen.

Step 2. Tap View tests located under Diagnostics.

Step 3. If you would like to run through all of the Diagnostics checks, tap Test all. Otherwise, tap only "Fingerprints".

Step 4.Your Galaxy phone will then run through the checks.

Step 5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the check.

Step 6. When necessary, you may need to manually run or interact with the corresponding function.
