I have recently found out 1 issue when I updated my A22 5g to the latest android 12.

There are 2 messaging app and both of them cant be uninstalled. Its so annoying that both of them notify the same messages. Thanks to someone that I was able to turn off the other App but I think samsung should have an option to uninstall either one of them. This is the google messaging app and the samsung native messaging app.

Please samsung, on the next update please fix this. Have us the option to have only 1 messaging app.

Make one of them your default messaging app.Screenshot_20220718-101404_Permission controller.jpg

Hey ralph19,

You might be seeing two different apps.

  • Google Messages has the icon with 3 horizontal stacked lines
  • Samsung Messages has the icon with 3 dots in a horizontal line

It's unfortunate but both apps have similar logos, but not the same functionality! Hopefully this clears things up a bit.

But it would be best to see that there would be only 1 messaging app that we could have on our phone. Atleast you give the user the option to uninstall unused apps. Too much unused apps on the Samsung galaxy nowadays. Sometimes its okay to let it be if the app is a loner. But having 2 of them is so unlikely. Anyway, I was hoping you give them a consideration to your future updates. You know that too much bloatware **bleep**!

You can't uninstall because of Google and Samsung partnership. I disabled Google messages on my phone and use Samsung messages.
