Thank your for your support. Yes my phone is up to date i make it with on screen instruction and since this is not the first time i had such finger print feautures im sure i did it correctly. I had vivo which have the same feature and yet when we try this with two devices to open by finger print with someone who can open and yes this one opens while the other phone don't on the person who try his finger print. I've check it multiple times that maybe they were pranking on me and make thier finger print registered on my phone but none its just the two print from my different thumb only. By the wat two of them can open this sometimes i mean its not always but there are multiple attemps that have made success in different day. But thank you by the way i'll reconsider your troubleshooting steps.

Hello DontTrust,

If it's really the case, you can opt to remove (delete) the fingerprint and TURN it OFF.

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. Tap Lock screen and security.
  3. Tap Fingerprint.
  4. Tap Edit.
  5. Select the Fingerprint and tap Remove.

You can use other method of lock screen feature i.e. PIN, Pattern, to secure your Samsung Galaxy device.

Hope this content useful.

Hello DontTrust,

Thanks for reaching out to us as we value your comments and Samsung is committed to providing the best possible mobile experience to our customers.

In response to your inquiry, please ensure the following in order to optimize your device's security.

1) Samsung device is up-to-date with the latest Software updates.

Settings > About Phone > Software Updates > Download, if available > Install > Follow On-Screen Instructions.

2) Remove a fingerprint from your Samsung Device.

a) From Settings, tap Biometrics and security, and then tap Fingerprints.

b) Next, enter your security credentials and then tap the fingerprint you want to delete.

c) Tap Remove and then tap Remove again to confirm.

3) Set up and use the Fingerprint sensor.

a) Navigate to Settings, tap Biometrics and security, and then tap Fingerprints.

b) Enter your lock screen credentials. If you do not have a screen lock set up, you may be prompted to create one at this point. When you're ready, read the information, and then tap Continue.

c) Use the on-screen prompts to register your fingerprint. When registering your fingerprint, make sure to fully cover the fingerprint sensor with your finger to prevent strong light from entering the fingerprint sensor. When you're finished, tap Done.

d) Next, make sure that the switch next to Fingerprint unlock is turned on.

Note: If the fingerprint sensor on your device is located on the Side key or below the Side key, you can disable the "Fingerprint always on" option to prevent accidental unlocks.

To unlock your phone using your finger, tap the screen or press the Power key or Side key. Then, place the registered finger on the fingerprint scanner, wherever it's located. The phone will automatically unlock, if it recognizes your fingerprint.

4) Add additional fingerprints.

It may be more natural to use a different fingerprint to unlock your phone if you're holding it in another hand, or orientation.  Thankfully, you can add multiple fingerprints so you can unlock your phone however you hold it.

a) From Settings, tap Biometrics and security, and then tap Fingerprints.

b)  Enter your secure screen lock credentials and then tap Add fingerprint.

c) Follow the on-screen prompts to add the fingerprint, and then tap Done.

Keep in mind that when your phone has restarted or if your phone has not been used for more than 24 hours, you’ll need to use your PIN, password, or pattern instead of your fingerprint.

Note: Some phones may come with a pre-installed plastic screen protector designed to work with the in-screen sensor. Installing another screen protector may affect fingerprint recognition.
