Do you think that Samsung Dex will eventually be available on Galaxy A series phones? Maybe not now (because of hardware limitations), but do you think it will happen in the future releases?

I personally dont care if my A series phone doesnt have dex. All I want is my phone to stream its screen via USB C to HDMI. 😅 i hope this becomes a feature in the future. 😁

For me it'll be great if samsung A series phones will have dex but I guess it's far from happening since it's one of the features that sets most flagship devices and mid range devices apart. 😃

I guess you're right. But who knows. That might happen in the future. But right now, I am satisfied with what I have in my phone 😅

I think it's not far from happening, remember that the screen casting(via Smart View) is available in most models of Samsung phones.
Also some flagship features back then are now available in some latest A series and enterprise models (e.g. Object Eraser).

Hello again Nabski,

I think it should be possible to connect your Galaxy A to a screen via USB-C... I think? I don't have a cable handy so I can't test it :)) But if you do, I would love to know the result. You might need to hack it a bit with dongles, but in theory it should just be plug-and-play.

As for DEX - well, that one uses a LOT of resources, which is why only our flagship models currently have this feature (because they're beefier.) But in my personal experience, Dex is great fun and very useful in a pinch, but I prefer having my devices separate. I use it to emulate old-school games on a TV, though!

What would YOU do with Dex?

I actually also still dont have usb c to HDMI because other users already tried and said that it doesnt work maybe due to USB 2.0 limitation, which i read, is available here in my A54 5G. I am afraid to spend money for that and just be wasted 'cause it doesnt work. Maybe next time. I'll try to test it out and let you know about the results.

Dex, on the other hand, can help me with my work. I do a lot of using google workspace. And the fact that I can bring this device everywhere I go is a great plus and adds a lot of value to this phone.

But, as i have said, I am super satisfied with the things I can do with this midrange beast. Not the best phone I ever used but I can say this is one of the best.

I would say it's not impossible. The previous model Samsung Xcover phone did not support Dex, but last year's Samsung Xcover 6 Pro does. Granted this is an enterprise-oriented phone meant for frontliners, but it does go to show how Samsung has historically decided to add Dex to a line of phones that previously didn't have that feature.
