In that other phone's samsung calender... can tap on the 'hamburger'... at the bottom, there is a "Manage Calender"... tap on that and you can select what calender to show or not?

- Launch Samsung Calendar > tap more options (3 lines) > tap Settings (gear icon) > select Manage calendars > tap slider next to the account that you want to disable the event from.
